13 Jan 2010Have you ever been invited to a bridal shower? Of course you have. We can probably all relate to losing our refrigerator beneath dozens of save the dates and shower invitations. When it comes to attending the showers, I never know what to expect. I’ve been to stuffy, formal showers that involved standing for uncomfortable lengths of time and sipping lukewarm tea. I’ve never been comfortable going through the motions of chatting up perfect strangers and making “ooh” and “ahh” sounds every time the bride was presented with yet another demitasse spoon. I always find myself wishing for a cocktail and anything besides a stale petit four.
Enter Christi Bennett of P is for Party Event Planning in Houston. Christi must feel exactly the same way that I do about bridal showers! A shower should be fun… it should involve movement, something sweet to eat and something yummy to sip. Christi came to me in October with a client who wanted to throw a very special bridal shower. She had selected a “Cupcakes and Cocktails” theme, and left it up to A Fare to create the perfect menu. Each guest selected from a trio of cocktails upon arriving, indulged in our Miniature Truffle Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, sipped our Warm Tomato Basil Soup, and finished it all off with a custom decorated cupcake.
Thank you, Christi, for the great business and amazing creativity!
